Privacy policy

This policy covers the Fokos Underground website. It says what the site collects, what happens to anything you send us through it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written in plain language on purpose.

1. Who we are

Fokos Underground LLC is an underground cable and conduit contractor based in Maitland, Florida. We are the controller of the information described here.

2. What we collect

What you send us

The quote form asks for your name, your email address, your phone number and a description of your project, and it lets you attach one file such as a site plan or a photograph. Only the fields marked required have to be filled in, and you decide what goes in the message. If you call or email us instead, we hold whatever you tell us that way.

What your visit leaves behind

Our hosting provider records the ordinary details of every request made to the server: the IP address it came from, the browser and device, the file asked for, the page that referred you, and the time. These logs exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse.

What we do not collect

This site runs no advertising scripts, no analytics and no tracking pixels. We do not build profiles of visitors, we do not follow you to other websites, and we neither buy nor sell personal information.

3. Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies. It keeps two small values in your own browser and sends neither of them to us or to anyone else:

  • which of the two colour themes you chose, if you chose one, so the page opens in it next time;
  • a note of which version of the site you loaded, kept only until you close the tab, so that after an update the page refreshes itself once rather than repeatedly.

You can clear both at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. Nothing on the page stops working without them.

4. Third parties

The typefaces the page is set in are served from this website, like the rest of it, so loading them tells no one else that you visited.

The map in the service area section is drawn from files that are part of this website. Loading it asks no other server for anything, it sets no cookies, and it is not used to find or follow your location.

The page loads nothing from anyone else.

5. How we use it

  • to answer your enquiry, price the work and arrange a site visit;
  • to carry out work you engage us for, and to keep records of it;
  • to meet our legal, tax, insurance and licensing obligations;
  • to keep the website working and secure.

We do not add you to a marketing list off the back of an enquiry. If we ever start sending anything of that sort, it will be because you asked for it, and every message will carry a way to stop.

6. When we share it

We share your information only in these cases:

  • with the providers who run the website, our email and our office software, under contract and only as far as their job requires;
  • with subcontractors, suppliers or utilities where your project requires it, and only the part of it they need;
  • where the law, a court order or a regulator requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim;
  • with a buyer, if the business is ever sold, on the same terms as this policy.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

7. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become work: 24 months.
  • Records of work we carried out, including contracts, invoices and job files: for as long as Florida law, our insurers and our accountants require.
  • Server logs: for whatever period our hosting provider keeps them.

8. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to do the work. No method of transmission over the internet or of storage is completely secure, so while we take this seriously we cannot promise absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

Write to us at the address below and we will, within a reasonable time:

  • tell you what we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete anything we are not required to keep;
  • stop contacting you.

Some states and countries give their residents further rights over their personal information. If you are covered by one of them, tell us when you write and we will handle your request under that law. We will never treat you differently for having asked.

10. Children

This site is for adults arranging construction work. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We do not track visitors across other websites, so a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal has nothing here to switch off. Nothing changes for you either way.

Where we link somewhere else, that site’s own policy governs what happens once you arrive. We are not responsible for it.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will post the new version on this page and move the date at the top. If a change materially affects what happens to information we already hold, we will say so here rather than leave you to spot it.
